Maya was a sixteen year old girl who lived in a really small town where weird things had begun to happen.

This is my first Kelley Armstrong. The descriptions of scenery and Maya's interactions with the animals were fantastic.

She created more than one conflict throughout the book. The characters would shuffle through them, so the reader wouldn't forget about any. My main issue is the book ended and none of the problems were resolved.

The big reveal wasn't earth shaking it was really pretty predictable even for someone who wasn't familiar with her books. It felt like she just wrote this book so you could read the next one and then find out what was going to happen. I am sorry to say I might read the second if I get around to it, but there are no guarantees. The book was okay, but I am not held in any sort of suspense.

Overall I gave this book 3 stars out of 5.
