Re-read Conspiracy in Death
Title: Conspiracy in Death (In Death #8)
Author: J. D. Robb
Genre: Mystery
Published: February 1, 2004
In the slums someone was killing people and taking their damaged organs. Eve Dallas was on the case.
For me this is one of the more emotionally rending books in the series. It is difficult to see a character who has been established as strong almost to the point of indestructible, at least in some areas as Eve, brought as low as Eve is in this story. It does show the support system which has been established around her and what those people would be willing to do for her.
My favorite relationship portrayal is between Mira and Eve. First when Eve found Mira in a weak moment and Eve's not knowing how to handle it. Then Mira's understanding compassion towards what Eve was going through. The mother/daughter relationship is a little more established and entrenched a little deeper. I find it particularly fascinating because Eve has no idea how the relationship has formed or what to do with it and Mira knows exactly what was happening and how she wanted the relationship to go.
Overall I gave this book 4 stars out of 5.
